HENRY IV Part 1
The tyranical reign of Richard II is ended. But England's saviour, Henry IV, is plagued with guilt and resents his new rule. His son, Prince Hal, spends his time drunk in ale houses and already the air is filled with rebellious plots to overthrow them.
Shakespeare's legendary charting of the reign of the Kings of England enfolds a huge landscape of war, drama and death in his two-part masterpiece. Featuring some of the most memorable characters, moments and lines from all of Shakespeare, these plays are the Bard's Game of Thrones: brought to epic life by PurpleCoat.
Following the five star success of Hamlet, Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 will be presented in a huge Christmas showcase at the ArtsClub Liverpool from 16-18 December.

The Merchant of Venice
HENRY IV Part 2
Percy is dead and the rebels have been defeated. But peace has not returned to England. The King is haunted by an ancient prophecy, and as his own health fails, he has fresh doubts over Hal's ability to take the crown. The country is sick, and even Falstaff is thrown out into the world to recruit to the King's cause.
Shakespeare's emotional conclusion to his double-bill is both heart breaking and nostalgic, lamenting a lost England and searching for answers in a time of total war.
